Bringing pets is often done by several vehicle owners, sometimes on vacation or just hanging out. However, indeed the treatment in the car is different from ordinary passengers.
Apparently there are special tips and tricks when inviting pets, especially dogs and cats. Chevrolet tries to share suggestions, of course so that a smoother, safer and more enjoyable trip.
Traveling with dogs
First, keep the dog while driving for its safety by using a safety such as a rope, pet carrier or cargo barrier. In addition, you can use a special rope to be tied in the back seat.
Never let a pet sit in the front seat, because it increases the risk of severe injury and even fatal if the airbag opens. If the dog is large, the best place for them is in the baggage area. Consider buying an additional cargo tray to protect the carpet.
Second, never leave a dog alone in a car. On a clear day, the temperature of parked vehicles can increase in a short time.
That would potentially lead to excessive heat shock, even with an open window. Even more, it can increase the risk of pet abduction.
Third, if the dog feels restless or barking constantly, give toys such as chew toy or treats, to keep the pet busy. Usually a dog will become calmer and can become more relaxed, if it has a busy life.
Traveling with cats
First, it is similar to traveling with a dog, using a pet carrier or cargo barrier in a car. Animals that are left to roam can be injured during an accident, or risk accidents for other passengers.
Second, make the cat familiar with the car by allowing it to cheat on the car, and spread the aroma. Another thing, can try to put a bed, blanket or towel belonging to a pet cat in the car.
Third, consider carrying a portable litter box, a foldable place to eat and drink, and medicines for cats.
Fourth, to avoid dehydration, especially when traveling in summer, prepare a bowl of ice that can be licked by cats, to keep it from overheating.
