OtoSome- Piaggio began exploring the marketing of electric scooters, named Elettrica. The iconic two-wheeler from Italy revealed that mass production began in September.
Electric scooter comes in two variants namely Elettrica and Elettrica X. This motorbike uses lithium ion batteries so it can travel up to 100 kilometers. As well, 200 kilometers for model X, in one charge.
The battery charge time is claimed in just four hours. This battery life cycle is also delivered reaching 1,000 hours of charging. If calculated distance, enough to cover a total of 49,000 kilometers.
Piaggio has not conveyed the details of capabilities, including the maximum speed of Elettrica. But with the Eco mode, it is possible to have speed restrictions to maintain battery life.
From the battery, its performance is synchronized with a 50 cc engine scooter. The electric motor produces 2.7 hp and can produce a maximum power of up to 5.4 hp when maximized with a pretty shocking torque, 200 Nm.
Piaggio has not revealed where the electric motorbike components are used from. However, Elettrica will be assembled at the Piaggio factory in Pontedera where the first Vespa product was also born.
In the future this product can be developed into various types of products, including the addition of autonomous and artificial intelligence technology. Similar to Tesla electric cars.
Vespa also hasn't announced how much their electric scooter is. It could be that the price will be paired with premium Vespa products that were previously present.
