After a number of teasers were posted, Mercedes-Benz finally officially unveiled its first electric car. Called EQC with EQ derived from the word Electric Intelligence, its full name is the Mercedes-Benz EQC 400 4Matic. This model marks the start of the Mercedes-Benz generation of electrification, by becoming the first car to be sold in the EQ electrical division.

The production of Mercedes-Benz EQC began at the Bremen plant in Germany in 2019, followed by the next in Beijing, China.
