OtoSome - Two weeks before being introduced to the public, Audi leaked the official start of the production of its electric SUV, e-tron quattro all-electric in Brussels, Belgium today (3/9/2018). The car will be taken directly to San Francisco and made its first debut on September 17, 2018.
Based on official information, a member of AUDI AG's Production and Logistics Management Board, Peter Kössler couldn't even wait to bring Audi e-tron to the face of the world.
"Audi e-tron is a true pioneer. The technological features in this car are very innovative as virtual mirrors are combined in dynamic Audi quality and present exceptional handling with Vorsprung technical that far surpasses ordinary cars," said Peter.
"This is the world's first certified CO2-neutral mass production in the premium segment, he continued.
Actually, Audi has been preparing to start electric car production (e-tron) in recent years. But convincing significant things began to increase in the past few months, such as the maturation of a factory in Brussels, Belgium which was called very modern and capable of making quality premium electric cars.
"Audi builds many competencies 'at home' (factory-Red) for Audi e-tron, and develops battery technology and its own driving system," said Managing Director of Audi Brussels, Patrick Danau.
This included gradual rebuilding the body shop, paint shop, and assembly line. The factory also has a new section for battery production.
But, the German manufacturer has not confirmed the annual capacity for the electric SUV. But based on Audi's announcement some time ago, the car will be equipped with a 95 kWh battery, 2 electric motors with a total output of 320 kW, and capable of performing DC quickly up to 150 kW.
