Last month Audi showed off a 764 hp concept car at Pebble Beach. Shortly afterwards rumors of electric hypercar from Audi were spread.
Reported by Motor1, the Audi supercar news will be powered by 1,000 hp. 4WD R8 E-Tron is reported to be able to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in just 2 seconds.
If the R8 is really going to use electricity, then the R8 no longer has anything to do with Lamborghini Huracan. The platform will remain the same, but the engine will be upgraded using the 5.2L V10 naturally aspirated with an electric motor.
Meanwhile, Audi also has an agenda for E-Tron. Given that the SUV will launch later this month and be followed by the E-Tron Sportback in 2019.
While Audi Sport is completing the E-Tron GT to be launched at the beginning of the next decade. As a final note, the R8 will now get a refresher which is likely to give birth to the new V6 and RS GT variants.
